I've a feeling that many of the future articles will be quite leftfield (I've just finished one on the development of towns). For this I apologise, but I feel that many things on the periphery of Glorantha need fleshing out
Yes, the Orlanthi use only cats to herd sheep - yes the Orlanthi only use dogs to herd sheep. My game varies, do you understand?
Folk Magic is the common spell-craft used by ordinary folk of every culture. It is low powered and unsophisticated but geared towards many different applications, often towards the very real needs particular to that culture.
Because there is a myriad of folk spells in Glorantha this article will provide a cascading style of rule-set. A set of rules (templates) for common types of spells (increase skill spells, for example) will be set out and then short descriptions for individual spells and how they differ from those templates.

Orlanthi society is a kin based society and Draconised Orlanthi society is no different. All honour is to do with your extended family, your clan - their dishonour is your dishonour and vice versa. This is not to say that Orlanthi society is insular and nuclear, they federate into tribes and even Kingdoms, just that they most often rely upon only the support of their clan.
However, social and economic factors interfere with the "perfection" of such a society.

Glorantha the Second Age implies that the Empire of the Wyrms' Friends drastically changes Orlanthi society within its bounds, toppling Orlanth and Ernalda from their thrones as Rulers of the Gods and replacing their cults with Draconic versions.
Are these cults new and improved versions of the gods, new insights into old worship or just imitations?

I'm writing a free pdf, under the Open Gaming License, containing some of the things I would have liked to have seen in the Mongoose version of Runequest. These are not necessarily broken, just new options that can be used by GMs.
It's non-gloranthan but written by a mad Glorantha fan. It should have the right feel (I hope) in the same way Griffin Island has the right feel, even though it is a generic fantasy supplement. It's about a third of the way finished.
It will cover combat, personality traits and guardian "spirits".

I wrote this review not long after the game came out. Now, a year or two down the line, I would score this book a little higher. This is because it is a fun game to play, I can acknowledge that, but mostly because Mongoose have brought out some top quality Gloranthan supplements - most notably Glorantha the Second Age. Nonetheless I have posted this article as-is because much of the criticism stands.
Runequest is a roleplaying game published by mongoose publishing [outside link]

Sadly, who is speaking in this document is unclear - a little spent faith reveals, however, that they were a second age clan somewhere in Quiviniland. The concentration of spears in the formation suggests the clan bordered Prax.
This is an article about shieldwall military tactics for an Orlanthi clan who have both cultural and violent day to day encounters with nomadic tribes. It's a blending of spear block and shieldwall tactics.

In this, our more tolerant, more enlightened, age it would be nice to think such silly time-wasting hobbies such as divining the species of gods would have died out. Sadly there are fools in every generation. As for who is the missing god of dogs? Don't ask a devotee of Shnorbix that!
It would go some way to explaining why the Yinkin cult has animal herding rites when the cat is so patently rubbish at it. It could also explain some marginal clans refusal to give up the dog (you’ve seen their bizarre dog modifying rituals) and the Yinkinii militancy in this regard.
Could we be seeing an early magical attempt to modify memory in the Orlanthi mind by persons unknown? And how successful does it seem to be!
Or is this the God Learners switching Gods again? If so who was the missing God of Dogs and where is he now?
PS. Please don’t let those cat-nazis know I dug this up.

This is a legacy article from the old website. I found that this was way too tedious to continue, and as you can see it is unfinished. I'm keeping it here because I'm getting hits on the page and though I may add bits and pieces to it, it is essentially defunct.
The glossary is basically, yes, a glossary but of Gloranthan terms that may seem unfamiliar.

![Overview of Our Clan [old]](images/newDes/titles/articles-tula.gif)
This is a legacy article from the old website. This document seems to be related to the Tactics In War document and therefore the same clan. Therefore, please consider it only for the sake of curiosity as it tells us little about the clans we are interested in.
